“I Might See You” / Foils, colour and ink on paper
What do you look like, and what kind of person do you think you are in the eyes of others? In addition to taking photos and videos, reflecting in water, or looking at yourself in the mirror, you would also learn about yourself through others. Whether it is the "self" in the mirror or in the eyes of others, it will form the “me” in reality.
This painting panel borrows the concept and composition of "mirror image“ to express the pulling back and forth of thoughts in between oneself when getting along with others. When facing another self or others, it seems there is a transparent mirror in between. While communicating with each other, the subsequent reactions and responses, and the expressions and behaviours from the heart to the body, our thoughts and emotions change constantly — the wandering of consciousness is like traveling through time and space in a flash . Whether it is positive or negative, convex or concave, reflection or projection, all are complementary to each other.

I Wish I Wish_ The Art of CUHK_MFA Graduation Exhibition
The name of the exhibition “肉身供養” is derived from the title of Hsun Chiang's book. The book reminds me of the various temptations and hardships with our own bodies. We learn to become who we want to be, try to learn who we are and what we are looking for in our limited time. The soul and body are mutually complementary. We experience gains and losses over and over in our pursuit of a better life. Our body is indeed the starting point and the end point.
Ancient beliefs may allow us to examine our own attachments and obsessions. Take the mural of the donors in Mogao Grottoes as an example, it is obvious that the donors’ attitude towards the gods changed from the respectfulness to the accumulation of benefaction and manifestation of personal merits. To be honest, our goodwill for the others, the respect for life, and the persistence of faith, just like the reverence and fear of the gods, are indeed dispensable.
We are all still seized by our endless desires. I wish I wish.

"I Will Take Care of You"
Borrowing the images of buddhist art paintings, the figures in her paintings and installations appeared to be sacred and powerful, which implies human repeated struggle against desires. Tong intends to observe the conflicts between the nature of mind and reality as well as to question the attitude of human beings toward countless desires in consumption of the soul.

心境在內,風境在外;
Perception turns with our soul.
I wanna find a way out of the scenery drawn by all others’ desires.
